Higher education is provided in public and private universities in Bangladesh.
Career-focused Education
These are specialized degrees for high-paying professions and have their own professional bodies.
Teacher Training
There are Teachers Training Colleges and institutions under the education department for professional development and training of teachers.
Advanced Studies
Research-based degree which usually takes 1-2 years to complete.
The highest level of education in Bangladesh, Doctor of Philosophy. Usually takes 3-5 years for research and thesis submission.
At this level, students mainly contribute to creating new knowledge and scientific research.
The main objective of this education is to expand the boundaries of knowledge through research and to discover new theories and technologies. PhD programs are offered in public and some private universities in Bangladesh.
